·         The strategic apex provides the direction and is the lead element – entrepreneurial

·         Whilst not explicitly covered in the text, apart from the development operations direct supervision seems the dominating coordinating mechanism; it is clear that this is the case with the relationship between XTech & Allied.

·         Sharpe is quoted as saying that 75% of the value-added activities lie with XTech and this is an indication of the organisational pull towards centralisation.  With the recruitment of Hesse and plans to expand further in Asia, the structure of XTech may be less distinct than it is now and a more Divisionalised form may develop.
